People commonly ask us: why do you prefer raised beds? I could answer this question in many ways, because there are a variety of benefits unique to raised bed gardening.
Barbara Damrosch has a nice article in the Washington Post about one of Farmscape's favorite crops, French Breakfast Radishes. Farmscape customers have been eating this delicious crop all winter long, and many have asked me about the origins of the name. Damrosch tells the same story I've always heard: "In France they are sliced lengthwise, spread with butter and salted, or placed atop a buttered baguette for a 'tartine.'"
As excited as I am about tomatoes, this article leaves me feeling nostaligic for winter veggies. I'll just have to wait until next fall.
