Maintenance Crew Supervisor, Los Angeles

Schedule: Monday- Friday, onsite hours 7:30am – 4:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

Maintenance Crew Supervision

• Supervise 4-6 maintenance crew members
• Make quality-control visits to gardens to conduct ride-alongs with crew
• Visit new gardens in service territory
• Communicate with crew regarding planned vacations, sick time and other leave; determine and coordinate which gardens require coverage
• Maintain & regularly update client service records in collaboration with the crew members you supervise
• Assist crew in biannual season switch of gardens, amending and replanting, with support from operations manager

Customer Service

• Maintain good customer relationships, both in-person and via phone/email
• Answer customer concerns in a timely manner and communicates problems upward
• Represent Farmscape products and services in a professional manner

Other

• Assists with farming maintenance and season switch tasks, as needed, including garden routes, irrigation repairs, vacation coverage, soil deliveries and garden tilling
• Assists with regular training support for larger maintenance team in Southern & Northern California
• Attend staff, service, and training meetings as required
• Additional tasks, as assigned by your manager
• This position requires 70% time in the field, and 30% in the office.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years landscaping experience
• 2+ years crew supervision experience
• 2+ years vegetable cultivation/farming experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with customers and staff
• Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices
• Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
• Valid driver’s license
