Farmscape has been working with Chef Niki Nakayama since 2010, before she launched her Michelin-starred restaurant n/naka. From 2010 – 2016, we managed a backyard farm at her home in San Gabriel, cultivating a variety of Japanese fruits, vegetables, herbs, microgreens and edible flowers.
When she moved to her new home in Culver City in 2016, we worked with her to get the most production possible out of a modest front yard space with full sun exposure. This front yard garden features a passionfruit privacy hedge, semi-dwarf citrus tree border, redwood raised beds, an area for microgreen production, and peach, plum and apricot trees along the entry walkway.
Her Culver City garden has been profiled in Sunset Magazine and is a great case study in maximizing production from a small space.
