Assistant Landscape Maintenance Manager, Oakland
Schedule: Monday-Friday, onsite hours 7:30am-4:00pm.

Compensation: $34-$38/hr
Status: Full time, non-exempt
Job Responsibilities:
Fruit Tree Care
- Develop and follow annual pruning schedules
- Manage fertilization schedules
- Monitor and maintain overall tree health
Irrigation Management
- Create and oversee perennial garden and orchard watering schedules
- Perform irrigation system repairs and maintenance
- Understand and operate various irrigation systems
- Identify opportunities to improve irrigation systems and up-sell possible solutions
Native Plant Maintenance
- Understand and implement annual care needs
- Perform seasonal pruning and general plant care
- Identify improvements, replacements or opportunities for up-sells
Training & Team Support
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to provide formal training sessions
- Offer in-field training and mentorship to the team
- Provide the Maintenance Manager with feedback on gardens to inform schedule changes or training needs
Site Management
- Independently maintain a few assigned sites, including plant care, irrigation, and general upkeep
- Drive between project sites and supply vendors (valid driver’s license required).
Tools & Equipment
- Proficient in the use, care, and maintenance of landscaping tools
Communication & Leadership
- Strong communication skills for team collaboration and client interactions

Reporting & Documentation
- Keep records of pruning, fertilization, and irrigation schedules
- Document plant health observations and maintenance activities
- Provide reports and updates to the Maintenance Manager as needed
- Track irrigation system issues, repairs, and suggested improvements
- Utilize google drive, Zoho CRM, Google Sheets, Expensify and Workforce Apps to manage and track time, expenses, and client data
Qualifications:
- 5+ years landscape experience
- Extensive experience with edibles, perennial and native landscapes
- 3+ year(s) personnel/team management experience
- Expert knowledge of spreadsheets and Google Suite apps
- Curiosity, resourcefulness, tenacity and strong work ethic are required.
- Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with customers and staff
- Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices
- Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
- Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
