Landscape Construction Foreman, Los Angeles
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am- 4:00pm
Farmscape is seeking a Landscape Construction Foreman to build safe projects, on time, on budget, and within scope. This is a hands-on position and requires the Foreman to work alongside the crew they are managing. In addition, the foreman is responsible for key administrative tasks that require strong computer skills and knowledge of basic project management.
Job Site Management & Landscape Installation
- Manage the on-site execution of landscape construction projects, according to plans and contracts
- Supervise and oversee smaller projects and other workers independent of the Lead Foreman as needed
- Proactively communicate, support and coordinate with the Foreman to; organize workflow, oversee quality control, problem solve, and manage time and materials
- Demonstrate strong hardscaping, masonry, carpentry, irrigation and lighting skills
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: Skid Steer Loader, Plate compactor, Jackhammer, Auger, Trencher, Mitre and circular saws
- Work with manager to determine schedules and scope for 2-5 laborers, along with equipment and material pickups and other project details
- Ensure that work is being done in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining excellent quality
- Read site plans to confirm layout is consistent and accurate with the landscape design
- Maintain organized vehicle, tools, yard, and inventory
- Perform daily spot checks with onsite team members and elevate any ideas or concerns at weekly meetings with install project manager and designer
Management – Personnel & Training
- Assist with hiring, orientation, training and reviews
- Participate in safety & training meetings
- Document project using Expensify, QuickbooksTime and Google Suite
- Assist with price sheets and best practices documentation
Qualifications
Certifications and Continuing Education credits such as QWEL is a plus
3+ years experience in landscape construction, as a Foreman
Ability to lift 75 lbs and perform physical labor outdoors in extreme weather conditions
Adaptability to Farmscape best practices and follow through
Clear, friendly and effective communication with management, customers, employees and vendors
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under tight deadlines
Strong computer skills, with the ability to read and fill out basic spreadsheets
Must have a strong work ethic, demand attention to detail, and be a proactive problem solver
Plant knowledge and identification are a plus
