Landscaping & Farming Careers

Farmscape is the largest urban farming company in California, and we are regularly adding sustainable landscaping jobs in our design, installation and maintenance departments.

As trusted local farmers, we grow food for single-family homes, master-planned communities, Fortune 500 companies, Michelin-starred chefs and World Series Champions.

Design

Our design teams include landscape architects, landscape designers and junior designers. They bring the client’s vision to life while maintaining the Farmscape standard of food-focused, summer-dry, sustainable landscapes.

Installation

Our installation teams include landscape construction foremen, assistant foremen and installation crew members. They work closely with our in-house designers to build the foundation for every Farmscape. This includes grading, irrigation, carpentry, stonework, hardscaping, planting and lighting.

Maintenance

Our maintenance teams include lead farmers, community farmers and assistant farmers. They visit each Farmscape regularly to tend the vegetable gardens, fruit trees and surrounding landscaping. They often engage with clients to discuss garden health, seasonal crop choices and upcoming harvests.

Working for Farmscape

  • Employee-Focused

A key part of our mission is to professionalize the farming and landscaping industry for a new generation by creating jobs that provide a fair wage, good benefits and a great work environment.

  • Grow With Us

We provide you with opportunities to grow and develop at Farmscape, in the field and elsewhere. If you’re a proactive problem-solver with a passion for growing food in urban areas, you’ll find a rewarding career path with us.

  • Get Your Hands Dirty

We like to work hard, but we also have a good time and enjoy the work as we’re doing it. There’s often a lot of manual labor involved in our work, and we embrace it. After all, spending time outside in California is a good thing!

  • Balance Solo & Team Work

Farmscape jobs offer a nice balance of independence and working with your colleagues. Team members have plenty of opportunities to make decisions for themselves, while also getting the chance to connect and collaborate with enthusiastic, knowledgeable colleagues.

  • Continue Learning

We’ve been designing, building and tending gardens for a really long time, but we’re always learning more both in the field and from each other. We encourage our team to find opportunities to learn and share their knowledge through staff training sessions.

  • Reconnect People & Food

Every day, we get to help reconnect people in mostly urban areas with where their food comes from, just how delicious hyperlocal food can be and how to find joy in beautiful, natural spaces. And we think that’s pretty great.

Benefits

Benefits for full-time staff include paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, FSA & Dependent Care plan, health care and 401K with employer matching.
