Job fair with Rubicon

In an effort to strengthen our ties to the community and champion inclusive employment practices, Farmscape recently took part in a job fair hosted by Rubicon Programs, a non-profit organization based in California. Rubicon Programs is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and resources to individuals facing significant barriers to employment and economic independence. Through services like job training, coaching, and placement assistance, Rubicon empowers individuals to overcome challenges and build sustainable livelihoods. The job fair was held in Richmond, CA, which holds special significance for me—it’s where my gardening journey began 16 years ago at Verde Elementary School’s garden.

At the job fair, members of the Farmscape team had the opportunity to engage with candidates from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their unique skills and experiences to the table. Hiring from organizations like Rubicon Programs isn’t just the ethical choice—it’s also good business sense. Research consistently shows that diverse teams are more innovative, creative, and resilient. By bringing individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives into our workforce, we enrich our company culture and drive greater success for Farmscape as a whole.

Farmscape is actively backing Rubicon’s efforts by participating in job fairs and conducting screening interviews. This initiative aims to assist Rubicon participants in honing their interviewing skills, thereby enhancing their chances of success in the job market.

Our experience at the job fair with Rubicon Programs was incredibly meaningful, and we're excited to continue our partnership in the future. As we strive to build a more inclusive and equitable workforce, we recognize the importance of working together with organizations like Rubicon to create opportunities for all individuals to thrive.
