- Design, Installation and Maintenance
We call this section of our client’s home in Alamo the “Back 40”- a casual farm and surf shack connected to the formal landscape surrounding the house. The Back 40 includes an oak woodland planting under two giant heritage oak trees, along with a mini orchard of citrus, Santa Rosa Plum and Fig. Lead installer Nick Smith designed a beautiful vintage brick border to differentiate planting and circulation areas.
For the main event, heavy timber raised beds grow seasonal vegetables, and a lovely corten steel centerpiece planter grows peas in the winter and beans in the summer. The garden is punctuated around the edges with blueberries and blackberries. The surf shack was designed and installed by our client, Paul Enea of E Builders.
