Brentwood

Residential Project

Project Summary

We always delight in the opportunity to convert an unused piece of plastic astroturf into an abundant garden. This property — a tight envelope of less than 1,000 square feet — features multiple nooks for enjoying a glass of wine with friends or contemplating butterflies.

Project Goals

  • Create a front yard entry that will be enjoyed daily and serve as a vibrant outdoor gathering space during events
  • Invite pollinators into the garden
  • Incorporate existing architectural elements into the garden to blend seamlessly with the existing context
Muted tones and poured concrete accentuate the modern features of this home

We transformed a sea of plastic turf and unhappy fruit trees into a peaceful retreat with more healthy, living plants and ways to interact with them.
