Project Goals
Near the home, structured patios and formal planting create a welcoming sense of order. As the landscape unfolds, it gradually becomes more lush and immersive, celebrating the abundance, productivity, and seasonal beauty that define Farmscape’s approach to edible landscape design.
Design Process
The design reorganizes the property around how the family lives, beginning with a new kitchen garden just outside the home that keeps fresh herbs, vegetables, and flowers within easy reach.
From there, productive and ornamental spaces unfold throughout the property, with clear circulation giving way to increasingly lush, naturalistic planting.
Mature trees and woodland views anchor the landscape, while layered planting creates privacy and softens neighboring homes without sacrificing openness.
Six raised garden beds, productive orchard plantings, berry trellises, and an ever-growing collection of roses create a landscape that is both beautiful and deeply functional. Carefully designed pathways connect the home’s gathering spaces with edible gardens, encouraging movement through the property while revealing new moments of discovery along the way.
From the street, the front yard offers a quiet, welcoming introduction that complements the surrounding neighborhood. Beyond the garden gate, it unfolds into a richly layered edible landscape where food, beauty, and outdoor living thrive together.
